What is a ultrasonic flow meter used for?

The GUF120A-W is a high-precision wall-mounted flow meter based on the ultrasonic time-of-flight principle. It consists of an IP67-rated wall-mounted host unit and various optional IP68-rated sensors, designed for permanent fixed installation.

Its greatest advantage lies in its unparalleled installation flexibility: the host supports wall-mounting, DIN rail integration,
or installation in an explosion-proof enclosure; sensors can be flexibly chosen according to your pipe conditions, medium
characteristics, and maintenance requirements—Clamp-on (non-invasive, no pipe cutting required), Insertion (hot-tap capable), or Inline (high accuracy). Accuracy depends on correct installation (using sufficient couplant, ensuring correct mounting distance) and pipe conditions (roundness, inner wall cleanliness). For pipes meeting the installation criteria, the nominal ±1% accuracy can be achieved, making it the preferred choice for maintenance and retrofit projects.

Q2: How do I choose the correct sensor model (e.g., TS, TM, TL) for my pipe?
A2: This mainly depends on the pipe outer diameter and media temperature. For example: For ambient-temperature pipes of DN50-DN100, choose TS (Small); for DN200-DN500 ambient-temperature pipes, choose TM (Medium); for large pipes ≥DN800 or high-temperature media (>90°C), choose TL (Large) or TM-HT/TS-HT (High-Temp). Q3: How is the heat metering function achieved?
A3: By optionally equipping the flow meter with a PT100 temperature sensor (e.g., clamp-on CT-1 or insertion TCT-1), the
instrument simultaneously collects flow and inlet/outlet temperature signals. Using its built-in calculation model, it can display and cumulatively output the heat/cooling energy value in real time, transmitted via 4-20mA or RS485.

Q4: How long can the SD card store data for?
A4: The storage duration depends on the data logging interval. Recording parameters like flow rate, temperature, and totalizers at 1-minute intervals, an 8GB SD card can store data continuously for over 10 years. The data files are in a standard format and can be opened directly on a computer with Excel for analysis.
